How today’s verse is chosen

The daily verse is a rotation, not a random draw. A fixed, reproducible shuffle of the reviewed pool is computed once, and each date takes the next entry. That means no passage repeats until every one has appeared — a full cycle of 200days — and that two people opening the site on the same day always see the same passage.

A second pass through the rotation separates neighbouring passages from the same book, so the daily verse does not come from the Psalms three days running.

Dates are resolved in Europe/Londonby default. No external service is involved, and the calculation does not depend on a database or an AI model — if either were unavailable, today’s verse would still be correct.
