Using this site

Verse in Context is provided free of charge for personal, church and educational use. You may read, copy, share, print and make images from the passages here.

Scripture text

The Bible translations reproduced here are in the public domain, and their own terms govern what you may do with the text itself. Those terms, including the attribution their translators ask you to keep, are set out on the translations page.

If you reproduce Scripture from this site, please keep the reference and the translation with it. That is a request rather than a legal requirement for these particular translations, and it is the single most useful thing anyone quoting Scripture can do.

Editorial material

The introductions, context notes, selection notes, guides and design of this site are original work and remain the property of Verse in Context. You are welcome to quote from them with attribution and a link. Wholesale republication is not permitted.

Images you generate with the image tool are yours to use. The tool runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

What is not provided

Nothing on this site is medical, mental health, financial, legal or professional advice, and nothing here is a substitute for pastoral care or for emergency support. Please read the disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

Accuracy

Considerable care is taken over the accuracy of the text and the references, including automated validation of every verse before each deployment. Errors are still possible. The site is provided “as is”, without warranty, and if you find a mistake we would be grateful if you would report it.

Availability

No uptime is guaranteed, and features may change or be withdrawn. Saved verses are stored in your browser and are your responsibility to keep; an export option is provided for that purpose.

Changes

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent change.
